Da das Kriechen vor allem bei <a href="Kunststoff" title="Kunststoff">Kunststoffen</a> eine Rolle spielt (zeitlicher Einfluss der Retardation bzw. <a href="Relaxation_(Naturwissenschaft)" title="Relaxation (Naturwissenschaft)">Relaxation</a> aufgrund des <a href="Viskoelastisch" class="mw-redirect" title="Viskoelastisch">viskoelastischen</a> Verhaltens der <a href="Polymer" title="Polymer">Polymere</a>), ist es üblich, den Kriechmodul bei der <a href="Auslegung_(Technik)" title="Auslegung (Technik)">Auslegung</a> bzw. <a href="Dimensionierung" title="Dimensionierung">Dimensionierung</a> von Kunststoffbauteilen zu verwenden.
